PURE WATER SOLUTIONS

Optimise how you recycle water

Ryonex is leading the way when it comes to developing innovative pure water solutions for our customers to meet environmental and economic challenges. Ryonex continues to focus on maintaining the best level of service to customers at all times and strives to place itself at the forefront of providing advanced industrial and pure water recycling solutions.

What we do

Ryonex specialises in the application and regeneration of ion exchange resins. With over 30 staff across Australia, our skills encompass process, chemical, electrical and mechanical engineering, plus an in-depth understanding of water purification processes and technologies.

System design

Based on your water quality and water usage requirements, the system design could be mixed bed only or separate bed cylinders with mixed bed polishing for higher usage and water quality applications. Other options such as Ultraviolet light and sub-micron post filtration are also available.

Service process

Your deionisation system will be serviced every 90 days, or sooner if required. The exhausted cylinders are replaced with freshly regenerated resin beds, and the exhausted resin cylinders are taken to the Ryonex facility to be regenerated and returned to service.

INDUSTRIES WE SERVE

Healthcare

As part of the Ryonex Group, Ryonex Pure has over 15 years combined experience in the design, supply, installation and maintenance of high purity water systems for the healthcare industry.

With a comprehensive knowledge of the Australian standards for Water for Final Rinse, AS5369:2023, we can design a system to meet the individual needs of your facility.

Complete systems incorporating reverse osmosis, endotoxin removal, ultraviolet light disinfection, storage, distribution and automatic heat sanitisation of system pipework and ring main are considered to provide water that will continuously deliver the quality required for your reprocessing needs.

Our team have been instrumental in the completion of many successful projects throughout Australia in both the public and private sector.

Surgery

Cosmetic, Pharmaceutical & Manufacturing

Within the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry, there are certain standards and criteria such as BP, USP and TGA, that require water used in manufacturing to meet.

Our range of products, combined with our ability to design turnkey projects including storage, stainless steel distribution systems and ongoing monitoring and validation, give Ryonex Pure an edge in this industry.

Chemical works

Laboratories

Many laboratories demand the highest purity water to reduce the risk of contamination. Various grades of water are required from the most common applications to the most critical.

Ryonex can provide central water purification systems to produce water that can be distributed throughout the laboratory to many points of use for varied applications.

HOW IT WORKS

What is deionisation?

Deionisation is the most efficient process known for removing dissolved salts and minerals from water, the process removes these impurities by ion exchange.

Synthetic ion exchange resin, charged with either hydrogen (H+) or hydroxide (OH-) ions, release their ions in exchange for the positively charged cations (Mg++, Ca++, Na+, etc.) or negatively charged anions (CO3=, SO4=, Cl-, etc.), which may be present in the water supply.

An efficient mixed bed deioniser, combining both cation and anion resins, can produce water that approaches the theoretical limits of purity (18.24 megohm-cm resistivity at 25ºC).

As a practical matter 18 megohm-cm is the ultimate attainable purity. Ryonex deionisers can achieve these levels in applications that require it.

Mixed bed deionisation

Mixed Bed deionisation utilises only one ion exchange tank with both cation and anion exchange resin mixed to produce an infinite number of separate bed ion exchange sites within the single tank.

Water quality from a mixed bed system is much higher than separate bed, with 18 megohm-cm or .028 parts per million possible. In many applications the mixed bed deionisers are preceded by separate bed deionisation units to produce large volumes of water from the units

Separate bed deionisation

In separate bed deionisation, dissolved cations (Mg++, Ca++, Na+, etc.) are removed by directing the feed water through a bed of cation exchange resins.

The water then flows through a bed of anion exchange resin to remove the negatively charged fraction of the dissolved solids in the water (HCO3-, CO3-, Cl-,SiO2, etc). Separate bed deionisation can remove more than 99% of the dissolved ions in a water supply, depending on the constituents of the water, regenerant chemicals type, and litres used.

Product water quality from separate bed deionisation systems is typically within the 1 megohm-cm range, approximately 1 part per million as CaCO3.
